NaNoWriMo 2017: Day 20

Yesterday I finally had time to write and, as you know from my last post, I had an idea ready to run with as well.

So, that’s what I did.

I wrote the whole thing (2000 words) in pretty much one sitting. God it felt good.

I’m pretty sure you all know that feeling you get when you aren’t writing (or only writing beginnings that you hate). The physical and mental frustration that just makes you want to wriggle into a little ball and then explode!

I’d been feeling that way for the last week or so. The overwhelming joy and relief that comes with writing something (finishing in particular) that you are happy with is one of the best reasons to keep going I know of.

November 20

  • 2.5 hours work from home – Day Job 1
  • 2 loads of laundry
  • Walked the dog
  • Helped cook dinner
  • Visited friends and their newborn

WRITING TIME: 3 hours or there abouts
WORDS WRITTEN: 2000
RESULT: 1 new short story
