It’s the first day of NaNoWrimo 2017 (in Australia anyway) when I’m writing this. I’m sitting at my cousins desk in my Aunt and Uncle’s house because, since Mat and I stopped travelling, we’ve been couch surfing. Ideally NaNoWriMo is conducted in the comfort of a room of one’s own, in an empty house with no distractions and during a month with NO other commitments. But that, my friends, is not a reality many people live in.

The truth is, I haven’t ‘completed’ NaNoWriMo since I was an unemployed Uni student who finished her assignments early November and spent the rest of the month swanning around the house writing. I don’t honestly think I’ll finish this year either (and that’s with a 4500 word head start), but I’m going to give it a damn good go, and I’ll be closer to a finished book than when I started and that’s the important thing.

Now before I used up all my word power on this post let me tell you my blogging intentions for the month ahead. I hope to blog every day of November, nothing fancy, just a list of everything I did that day that wasn’t working on my manuscript and then my writing time and word count.
