This book is a treasure, a gift from author to reader which I didn’t recognise as such until I reached its end.

A friend of mine recommend The Little Prince to me months before I happened upon it in my parent’s bookshelf. Short and sweet, it was easy to get into but at first I wondered if it was one of those children’s books over hyped by adult readers. By the end I had no such qualms. The messages are simple and timeless, poignant and beautiful. As the narrator comes to love the little prince I came to love the story. I’d like to think I tamed it but in truth it tamed me.
